Personal computers are always evolving and the most successful companies are at the cutting edge of new technology. The latest Apple imac offers the best in operating systems and entertainment packages. It is designed to be user friendly, secure and ideal for business and leisure use. An RSS facility gives access to the World Wide Web and there are parental controls available.
The Mac OS X operating system runs the spam protected email facility, address book and calendar. Fast Keys give access to weather forecasts, the latest stock prices and flight information. There is also an internal phone book and dictionary, which can be brought up with a hot key. The Mac OS X, developed for the Apple imac, is compatible with wire or wireless systems and can be used to operate any keyboard, mouse, digital camera or printer.
Security is a necessary priority for any PC owner and the Apple imac incorporates the latest state of the art technology to ensure trouble free operation. The system is designed to automatically download security updates and there is a personal firewall that constantly monitors traffic, stopping anything undesirable from getting through. The File Vault system protects the privacy of sensitive material.
In addition to the many attractive aspects to the office environment, the Apple imac was also launched with fun in mind. PC users are increasingly using their computer to organise their photographs, provide their music and generally fill the need of an entertainment center.
The most recent software, known as iLife 08 comes with the Apple imac, to make music, movies, photo books and to set up web sites. The iPhoto can organise as many as 200,000 photographs and these can be sorted into time periods or by event. Calendars, slide shows and greeting cards can also be made from using the software. The iMovie facility creates movies from photographs and these can be viewed on an iPod, iPhone or on Apple TV. Rock bands that dream of a record contract can bring that dream a little nearer by using the Garage Band software, designed to record and to make backing arrangements.
ITune enables users to make their own digital jukebox of favorite songs. This can be done by buying and downloading tracks from the iTunes store or by converting a CD collection into digital files on to the iTune system. The Apple imac also allows tracks to be organized into genres etc. and will play music through Apple TV or stereo player.
